Elevator Pitch

For my HUA Capstone I will be researching the way women move through public spaces. The street is perceived as the man’s domain in Morocco, while it serves as a passageway from one place to another for women. I plan to focus on cafe culture specifically and perform more of an observational study with a few casual conversations, rather than a formal interview style. Dynamics between men and women in public can change drastically depending on age, class, and region and I want to look into how these aspects cause interactions to function differently, especially since the cultural and social stigmas and norms are very different from the US.
